Creative Krispies

A friend of mine wanted to go to the drive-in Thursday night, with Friday being a holiday. It just so happened that it rained almost. every. single. day in June. Thursday was particularly soggy, so instead Natalie had a rice krispie sculpture contest. The evening included a Michael Jackson tribute, dinosaurs, hamburger and shake, and a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. Natalie even lit up the evening with sparklers! This is my contribution. In case you can't tell... it is King Kong carrying Fay Wray and climbing the Empire State Building. Katie recently had a fantastic idea to watch all three King Kong movies from 1933, 1976 (I missed half of this one) and 2005. I was actually quite surprised at the violence in the 1933 movie. I have to admit that I found it comical, though, when the claymated Kong picked people up, put them in his mouth and chomped on them. High-tech for back then, for sure. By the way, Katie is amazing to watch movies with. She studied film in college and always knows what's going to happen, who's going to die, etc. after five minutes. She also pulls a theme and meaning out of the little details. Katie is officially my movie guru.
