Oh Canada!

I'm leaving in the morning for Prince Edward Island! Well... we'll actually spend most of tomorrow in Maine and arrive at PEI on Tuesday... my BiRtHdAy! Unfortunately... I just checked and my cell phone will charge me an outrageous amount to talk on it in Canada. :( So if you were planning on calling me for my birthday... wink, wink ;) I can receive texts for free or may have e-mail access. I'll be sure to post all about the trip on my return.

Where are the PEI updates? I'm getting a little impatient! How was your birthday? I would've texted had I known about the phone dilemma, luckily I have my computer again so all is right with the world...except you're there and we're here.

Charlotte, I thought I would put this on your blog as well as my own so your friends could enjoy it. Here it goes:
The FIRST day of our companionship, Charlotte didn't quite make it on the bus. The doors closed on her arm and the bus started up. I stared in horror at her arm (the part that was inside the bus). I thought, "I just killed my greenie! And I have to tell the mission President!" I wasn't sure if I should take her hand (to comfort her) or not (because it could come off and I would be holding it)! I choose NOT to. I think Sister Beames (our other comp)started petting her hand like a puppy. I thought for sure she would be swept under the bus and run over. I was in shock and couldn't even yell. Good thing that there were 50 Russians on the bus that started yelling for me! The driver slowly stopped the bus and then opened the door. (Good order!) Charlotte tried to push her way onto the bus, but we jumped off to be with her. I remember frantically feeling her arm to see if it was still attached. It was!!! I sat down on the curb and put my head down so I could finish hyperventilating. :) Sister Beames was laughing hysterically.....some old couple was yelling at me, "Why didn't she just get on the bus?" and "You can't sit on the ground! You will never be able to have kids!".....and Charlotte was mad at me. She wasn't mad because I was her trainer and should have made sure she got on the bus. She was mad because I thought she was going to get run over. She was mad because I thought she wasn't fast enough! She kept saying, "I can't believe you don't think I can run as fast as the bus! I CAN run as fast as the bus!!!" Mind you...it was her right arm so she was running backward!!! :) I have a bunch of really fun memories with Charlotte all packed into a few months that we served together. But THAT one...I will never forget!
