Through New Brunswick

I love waking up to people saying "Happy Birthday!" :) On Tuesday, we drove through New Brunswick continuing on our journey. The beautiful scenery looked similar to Maine. Tashina saw her first covered bridge, so we stopped and took some pictures. In New Brunswick, we also stopped at the Hopewell Rocks. These beauties are called the Flowerpots. We arrived near low tide, so we were able to walk down below the rocks. Apparently, at high tide the water comes high enough to cover most of the rocks, a huge difference.

We arrived at Prince Edward Island late in the afternoon. The Confederation Bridge stretched for more than eight miles across the water. They purposefully put a little rise in the middle to get a good view of the island as you drive in. I must say that PEI met
all of my expectations from reading the Anne books and watching the series. Very different from the tropical islands I've been to... a mix of evergreen forests, farmlands, red roads, and the beach/ocean scenes. It felt small and home-y, like it would be very comfortable to live there.
We stayed at a bed & breakfast called the Beach House Inn. Adorable place. That night we settled in and had a fun birthday dinner for me and enjoyed ice cream with fresh strawberries. Mmmm.
